The SAT requires a motive for each cancellation. The motive is a fiscal decision. Select it before you cancel a CFDI.

Select the motive

1

Did the operation occur?

If the operation did not occur, use motive 03. Refer to Cancel a CFDI.
2

Must the receiver get a correct CFDI?

If the CFDI has errors and the receiver must get a correct CFDI, use motive 01. Refer to Replace a CFDI.
3

In all other conditions

If the CFDI has errors and you do not stamp a replacement, use motive 02. Refer to Cancel a CFDI.

The motives

Motive 04 is for global invoices. Transitive does not use it.

Motives that Transitive selects

Some cancellations start automatically. Then Transitive selects the motive, and you do not select it:
  • A credit note with the same value as its invoice can cancel the invoice with motive 02. Refer to Credit notes.
  • A receipt reversal cancels the payment complement of its receipt with motive 03. Refer to Receipt reversals.
