# Replacement was cancelled

> The replacement CFDI was cancelled before the cancellation of the original CFDI.

Code `substitute_cancelled`. It shows on the timeline. The status changes to **Cancellation didn't go through**.

> The replacement CFDI was cancelled before Transitive submitted this cancellation, so this CFDI stays valid. Cancel it again with another replacement or another motive.

## What it means

Motive 01 cancels a CFDI and refers to its replacement. The replacement was cancelled before Transitive sent the request. Thus, the original CFDI stays valid. Refer to [Replace a CFDI](/guides/replace-a-cfdi).
