# Amount applied to an invoice is invalid

> A line of the receipt applies an amount that is not valid.

Code `payment_line_amount_invalid`. The status is **Failed**.

> CargoWise says the amount applied to INV-1042 is -5.00. It must be a positive amount. Fix it in CargoWise and resend the document, or stamp it by hand.

## What it means

The amount that a receipt applies to an invoice must be more than zero. The amount for this invoice is zero, negative or not a number.
