# Payment names an unknown contribution

> A payment refers to a settlement contribution that does not exist.

Code `payment_entry_without_contribution`. The status is **Failed**.

> Payment 2 names the settlement contribution C9, which the settlement does not hold. Fix it in CargoWise and resend the document, or stamp it by hand.

## What it means

Each payment that comes from a settlement contribution refers to that contribution. The settlement of this receipt does not have the contribution that the payment refers to.
