# Credit note exceeds its invoice

> The credit note is larger than its invoice.

Code `credit_exceeds_parent`. The status is **Failed**.

> CargoWise says the credit note is 1200.00 MXN. INV-1042 is 1000.00 MXN. Fix it in CargoWise and resend the document, or stamp it by hand.

## What it means

A credit note cannot credit more than the total of its invoice. The amount is incorrect, or the credit note refers to the incorrect invoice.
