# related_cancellation_not_completed

> Transitive asked to cancel a related document, but the cancellation did not occur.

> Transitive asked to cancel the related document. The receiver rejected the cancellation. That document keeps its CFDI.

## What it means

A receipt reversal asks Transitive to cancel the payment complement of its receipt. When that cancellation does not occur, the payment complement stays valid. A credit note never shows this failure. It keeps its status, and its timeline shows that the invoice was not cancelled. Refer to [Receipt reversals](/guides/receipt-reversals) and [Credit notes](/guides/credit-notes).

## Cases

### The receiver rejected the cancellation

The SAT asked the receiver to accept the cancellation, and the receiver rejected it.

### The time limit to cancel ended

The SAT does not accept a cancellation after the legal time limit.

### The SAT did not record the cancellation

The SAT has no record of the cancellation request.

### The provider or the SAT refused the cancellation

The timeline of the related document shows the code and the message of the refusal.

### CargoWise did not send the related document

> Transitive asked to cancel the related document. CargoWise did not send that document. That document keeps its CFDI.

Transitive cancels only a CFDI that it stamped. There is no CFDI to cancel.

### The related document has no CFDI

> Transitive asked to cancel the related document. That document has no CFDI. That document keeps its CFDI.

There is no CFDI to cancel.

### A different system stamped the related document

> Transitive asked to cancel the related document. Transitive did not issue its CFDI. That document keeps its CFDI.

Transitive cannot cancel a CFDI that a different system stamped. To cancel it, use that system.

### The related document has two valid CFDIs

> Transitive asked to cancel the related document. That document has more than one valid CFDI. That document keeps its CFDI.

Transitive does not select the CFDI to cancel. Cancel the incorrect CFDI of the related document.
