# payment_method_missing

> The invoice has no valid payment method.

Group: [Invoices](/reference/failures/overview#invoices). The status is **Failed**.

> **Payment method is missing** `payment_method_missing`
>
> CargoWise gives this invoice no payment method. It must be PUE or PPD.

## What it means

The payment method of an invoice must be <Tooltip tip="Payment method for an invoice that the customer paid in full when you issued it.">PUE</Tooltip> or <Tooltip tip="Payment method for an invoice that the customer pays later or in parts.">PPD</Tooltip>. CargoWise gives no value, or a value that is not one of these two.

## Cases

### CargoWise gives a different value

> CargoWise says the payment method is PPDX. It must be PUE or PPD.

The value in CargoWise is not PUE or PPD. Correct it.

## How to correct it

Correct the data in CargoWise. Then send the document again, or stamp it by hand.
