# payment_basis_ambiguous

> The receipt amounts do not show which amount was paid.

Group: [Payment complements](/reference/failures/overview#payment-complements). The status is **Failed**.

> **Receipt amount is ambiguous** `payment_basis_ambiguous`

> CargoWise says the receipt is 1000.00 USD and 17500.00 MXN in local currency. It does not say which one was paid.

## What it means

CargoWise gives the receipt amount in the foreign currency and in the local currency. The two amounts do not show which amount the customer paid.

## How to correct it

Correct the data in CargoWise. Then send the document again, or stamp it by hand.
