# exchange_rate_missing

> A document or a payment in a foreign currency has no exchange rate.

Group: [Currency and exchange rates](/reference/failures/overview#currency-and-exchange-rates). The status is **Failed**.

> **Exchange rate is missing** `exchange_rate_missing`
>
> This document is in USD, but CargoWise gives no exchange rate (ExchangeRate).

## What it means

A CFDI or a payment in a currency that is not MXN must have an exchange rate. CargoWise gives no rate.

## Cases

### A payment of a payment complement has no rate

> Payment 2 is in USD, but CargoWise gives no exchange rate (ExchangeRate).

The message gives the payment.

## How to correct it

Correct the data in CargoWise. Then send the document again, or stamp it by hand.
