# Send an update from CargoWise

> What occurs when CargoWise sends a document again with new data.

You can change a document in CargoWise and send it again. Transitive finds the document by its document number. Then it uses the new data in the way that its status allows.

## Send the update

## What Transitive does

The result depends on the status of the current version.

| Status of the current version | What Transitive does |
| - | - |
| Not stamped yet (**Queued**, **Waiting**, **Failed**, **Missing**) | Replaces the old data with the new data. Examines the document again and stamps it automatically. |
| **Stamped**, **Cancelling** or **Cancelled** | Keeps the CFDI. The timeline shows **CargoWise sent new data**. Nothing else changes. |
| An earlier stamp has an unknown result | Keeps the old data. This rule prevents a second CFDI. |

## Use new data for a stamped document

A stamped CFDI does not change. To use the new data, do one of these:

* [Replace the CFDI](/guides/replace-a-cfdi). Transitive stamps a replacement and cancels the original.
* [Cancel the CFDI](/guides/cancel-a-cfdi). Then stamp the document again.

## Same message twice

If CargoWise sends exactly the same message again, the **Events** page shows **Duplicate**. Nothing changes.

## Related documents

A payment receipt or a credit note can arrive before its invoice. The document waits. When CargoWise sends the invoice, the waiting document continues by itself. You do not send it again. Refer to [Missing and not received](/guides/missing-and-not-received).
