# Connect Gemini

> Add Transitive as a custom app in the Gemini web app.

Use this procedure to add Transitive to Gemini. You add it in the Gemini web app. Then you can also use it in the Gemini mobile app.

## Before you start

* The Transitive team must enable the service for your organization. Refer to [Use an AI assistant](/assistants/overview).
* You need the server URL: `https://mcp.transitive.app/mcp`.
* You must be 18 or older and in the US.
* You must sign in to Gemini with a personal Google Account. A work or school account does not work for custom apps.
* **Keep Activity** must be on in your Google Account.
* Custom apps are available in English only.

## Add the app

    On a computer, go to [gemini.google.com](https://gemini.google.com).

  <Step title="Open Connected Apps">
    At the bottom, select **Settings** > **Connected Apps**. If you do not see **Connected Apps**, select **Personal Intelligence** first.

  <Step title="Enter the URL">
    Under **Custom apps**, enter `https://mcp.transitive.app/mcp` in the field **Add a custom app link to get started**. If you already have a custom app, select **Add a custom app**.

  <Step title="Continue">
    Do not enter credentials. Select **Next**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in and allow">
    Gemini opens the Transitive sign-in page. Sign in, select your organization, and select **Allow**.

## Use the app

In a chat, type `@` and select **Transitive**. Then ask a question, for example "List my latest invoices."

## Disconnect or remove the app

| Action | Steps |
| - | - |
| Turn the app off | In **Connected Apps**, find **Transitive** under **Custom apps** and turn it off. |
| Disconnect it from your account | Select **More details** > **Disconnect**. This revokes the access of Gemini to Transitive. |
| Remove it | Select **More details** > **Remove app**. |
