# Connect Claude

> Add Transitive as a custom connector in Claude.

Use this procedure to add Transitive to Claude on the web, on desktop or on mobile. Claude connects to Transitive over the internet. You do not install anything.

## Before you start

* The Transitive team must enable the service for your organization. Refer to [Use an AI assistant](/assistants/overview).
* You need the server URL: `https://mcp.transitive.app/mcp`.
* A Free plan can have one custom connector.
* On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector first. Then each member connects. Use the steps for owners below.

## Add the connector

  <Step title="Open the connector settings">
    In Claude, select **Customize** > **Connectors**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add a custom connector">
    Select **+ Add**, then select **Add custom connector**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the name and the URL">
    Enter `Transitive` as the name. Enter `https://mcp.transitive.app/mcp` as the URL. Select **Continue**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check the sign-in settings">
    Claude finds the sign-in settings by itself. Under **Authentication**, select **Sign in now**. Under **OAuth client**, keep **Use Claude's published identity (Recommended)**. Select **Continue**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add the connector">
    Leave **Request headers** empty. Select **Add**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in and allow">
    Claude opens the Transitive sign-in page. Sign in, select your organization, and select **Allow**. Claude shows the connector as connected.

## Steps for owners of Team and Enterprise plans

  <Step title="Open the organization settings">
    Select **Organization settings** > **Connectors**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add the connector">
    Select **Add**. Move the pointer over **Custom** and select **Web**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the details">
    Enter `Transitive` as the name and `https://mcp.transitive.app/mcp` as the URL. Select **Continue**. Set the authentication in the same way as above. Select **Add**.

Then each member selects **Customize** > **Connectors**, finds **Transitive** and selects **Connect**.

## Use the connector

  <Step title="Start a chat">Open a new chat in Claude.</Step>

  <Step title="Turn on Transitive">
    Select the **+** button at the lower left of the chat. Select **Connectors**. Turn on
    **Transitive**.

  <Step title="Ask a question">Ask, for example, "List my latest invoices."</Step>
</Steps>

## Remove the connector

Select **Customize** > **Connectors**. Select the three dots next to **Transitive**, and select **Remove**. To change a connector, remove it and add it again.
